GCET 2018: Goa Common Entrance Test

There is a total of 1650 seats available in this examination. The exam mainly comprises of four subjects, with each subject’s paper lasting for 2 hours and consisting of 75 questions each. Each correct answer is of 1 mark each, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The examination can be held as per class 10+2 syllabus. The list of subjects that the candidates have to prepare for is given below:

GCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to appear for the GCET 2018 examination. The eligibility criteria can be found below:

  1. The candidate must be an Indian citizen. A non-resident Indian carrying an Indian passport can also give the exam.
  2. The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized higher secondary school examination of Goa Board or from any equivalent Higher Secondary Examination Board.
  3. Candidates appearing for Dentistry, Medicine, Homeopathy, Nursing and Allied Health Science must have completed 17 years of age before 31st December 2014. There is no age limit for Architecture, Engineering, and Pharmacy.

GCET 2018 Application Form

To apply for the GCET 2018, you must download the prospectus from the official site. The prospectus contains two forms, A & B. The candidate must take hard copies of these forms on an A4 sized paper. Form A should be filled in the candidate’s handwriting and submitted to the below-given address. A demand draft of Rs. 1500/- is to be paid while the submission of the form.

Important Points

  1. The form must be filled accurately and completely else. Partially filled forms are subjected to rejection.
  2. Passport size photographs (minimum 3) must be given with the form. The photographs should be recent ones.
  3. Your name and date of birth should be written in capital letters.
  4. Secondary School Certificate’s copy should be attached with the form.
  5. Subject Code of subjects you wish to appear for must be encircled.
  6. The address must be completely filled, along with the postal code of the place.

 GCET 2018 Admit Card

The Admit Cards for GCET 2018 will be issued to candidates in person. The candidates will get their admit card when they submit their application forms, along with a DD of Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 2500/- in the case of late submission). No changes shall be made into the admit card once issued. The admit card will contain the center of examination, and it will be solely decided by the Admission Committee. The student must carry the admit card along with him/her to the examination center.

GCET 2018 Answer Key

The answer keys will be released after the exam has ended. There will be separate answer keys for each question paper and will contain all the correct answers for the questions. Students can use this to their benefit and check how well they had performed in the examination.

GCET 2018 Merit List

The GCET Merit list 2018 will be displayed according to the courses, and categories at the Admission Centre. The following are the dates on which the merit lists will be posted:

All candidates must verify their names in the merit list, and in the case of any errors, contact the chairman of Admission Center immediately within 24 hours. It is a state level examination held for the admissions to various undergraduate courses mainly in the field of architecture, medical, engineering, technology and homeopathy. Candidates who are interested in joining these courses in Goa can apply to this examination.
