KEAM 2018 Entrance Examination is a state level prestigious examination to crack to get admission into various courses like Medical, Agriculture, Engineering, Fisheries, Veterinary, Architecture and MBBS/BDS courses but only in the colleges of the state of Kerala. There are many steps involved in the filling of KEAM 2018 application forms which can create confusion for the candidates but we are here to tell about the instructions to submit the form and other important notifications like Eligibility Norms, Release of application forms, Counselling sessions etc.

KEAM 2018: Kerala CEE

Educational Qualification: -As there are various professional courses under the KEAM exam, so there are different educational qualification eligibility norms. For MBBS/BDS and other medical courses: A common criteria, however, is a certificate in higher secondary education from State Board of Kerala or equivalent thereto with 50 % marks. For Engineering courses:50% marks in the higher secondary certificate is compulsory. No Diploma will be valid however Vocational Higher Secondary Exam is valid. For Architecture course(B.Arch.),50% marks in 12th is a prerequisite from the state or equivalent boards. There is a relaxation and of marks for reserved categories.

KEAM Eligibility criteria 2018

Age: – The minimum age for the candidate to apply to KEAM Exam 2018 is 17 years as on December of the same year. There is no upper age limit for KEAM 2018 and it should be noted that there is no relaxation for the minimum age limit.

Nationality: – Only Candidates with Indian nationality are eligible to apply for the KEAM 2018 exam to get admission into various professional courses. Persons of Indian Origin and Overseas Citizen of India are not eligible for reservation but can be considered for admission at par with Indian Citizens.

Reservation and Seats: – There is a categorisation of seats in KEAM 2018. The type of seats is government seats and management seats. The allotment against merit seats by the CCE (Commissioner for Entrance Examination) is called Government seats. In Aided-Institutions, the concerned managements or authorities allot seats which are categorized as Management seats. The notifications for both is made separately.

There is 15% reservation for All India Quota for MBBS/BDS courses. Also, there is reservation for nominees, persons with disabilities, sports quota, NCC cadets quota, special reservation and mandatory reservation.

KEAM 2018 Online application & dates

Submission of KEAM Application Form 2018 is a necessary step to sit in the examination. The application fee for General candidates is Rs. 800 and that for SC/ST is Rs. 400. There are some exemptions from fee also. Mode of payment is through security cards or DD. The signed printout application form from a Gazetted officer along with necessary documents is to be submitted till the first week of February. It is to be sent to CEE.

KEAM 2018 Admit card

The candidates can download the admit card from the official website of CEE that is www.cee.kerala.gov.in. To download the admit card, a candidate must enter their application number and date of birth to get access to his/her Admit Card. The qualifying marks are 10 each in every paper separately.There will be separate rank lists that will be prepared for different courses.In Engineering, 50:50 weight age will be given to marks in KEAM 2018 and 12th aggregate in PCM.

KEAM Exam pattern

There are two papers each of two and a half hours duration for Engineering as well as Medical Entrance Examinations.

Papers for the Engineering Exam

  • Paper 1-Physics and Chemistry
  • Paper 2-Mathematics

Papers for Medical Entrance Exam

  • Paper 1-Chemistry and Physics
  • Paper 2-Biology

The KEAM 2018 question paper will be in the form of a booklet. Each question will be of 4 marks and for each wrong answer, there will be negative marking of 1 mark each. Each paper will have 120 questions and time allotted will be 150 minutes. There will be five choices for each question.

KEAM 2018 syllabus

The topics covered will be of the higher secondary level. It should be noted that in KEAM 2018 examination, questions are not exclusively based on NCERT textbooks. Detailed syllabus can be seen on the KEAM official website and by downloading the Prospectus of KEAM 2018.

KEAM 2018 answer key

According to official details, the CEE will publish the answer keys on the website www.cee-kerala.org of all the papers only when all the examinations have been conducted.

KEAM 2018 result

As per official details, the result of KEAM 2018 Medical stream can be out in the third week of May and the result of KEAM 2018 Engineering stream on or around June 2018.

KEAM counselling 2018

The counselling sessions will be based on the merit lists prepared and thus, seats will be allowed according to ranks and colleges are chosen by candidates.
